Our Kihei Surfside condo guest called today and told me the Jacaranda trees in upcountry Kula are starting to bloom! Have you ever seen a Jacaranda tree in bloom?
No, these trees are not native to Hawaii (I believe originally from Central/South America). You will find them in Kula (halfway up Haleakala). I just love the color! I just may have to go for a drive to Kula (about a 45 minute drive from South Kihei), take some pictures and have desert at Grandma's coffee house!
