How to transport a wind turbine

A friend took a few pictures of the wind turbines being transported around South Maui this past week. Yes, we have a wind farm on the West Maui mountains just above Maalaea - what a perfect spot for them - it gets really windy there. Currently they are expanding the wind farm, adding 14 more wind turbines (according to Maui News). Yes, the wind farm is highly controversial because of its environmental/ecological impacts. However, by generating more power with wind turbines, Maui is able to reduce its dependency on diesel generated power.

This is a portion of the wind turbine's tower which is 180 feet high in total

Hope he doesn't have any sharp turns planned!

Hawaii's power is the most expensive in the United States - currently hitting 38 cents/kwh. How much does power cost where you live?
