I almost missed it! A few years ago we attended one of the Maui Classical Music Festival concerts at Keawala'i Church in Makena. The concert was beautiful - the musicians, the setting, just amazing. I was just thinking about it, that I must have missed it.
But no! There is one concert left in this year's 2015 series: this Friday, at 7pm at the beautiful historic Keawala'i church in Makena.
A Leisner sonata for violin and guitar, a Debussy piano trio and a Dvorak piano quintet. Check their website for more information.
These concerts are put on in partnership with Hawai'i Public Radio.
If you've never been to Keawala'i Congregational Church - do come! It is a beautiful church with thick walls of coral, set along the water in Makena. Do come early - the church is not air-conditioned - and grab a seat under one of the ceiling fans.
