Tonight - Full Moon Tidepool Exploration!

Tonight at Keawakapu Beach (right next to our Kihei Surfside condo) the Pacific Whale Foundation is hosting a Full Moon Tidepool Exploration from 6:30 - 8pm. Come and meet some of the fascinating creatures to be found in Hawaii's tidepools at night with marine educators to explain it all!

You do have to pre-register, call (800) 942-5311 ext 1. $10/adults, $5/kids. Recommended for people 6 and older. Wear sturdy shoes and bring a flash light.

Can't make this one? The next one is October 12, 2012. Call the Pacific Whale Foundation for more details (such as location) and to pre-register!

FOLLOW UP: We did this tonight - it was very cool! There were about 12 of us. The marine biologist first talked with us about tides, then showed us some pictures of what to look for, and warned us about what not to touch and a few of the dangers (slippery rocks, for instance). Then we all went exploring. We found 4 different types of sea cucumbers, a brittle star, sea star, various crabs, little fish, sea anemones etc. etc. I would definitely recommend this!
