One of our favorite lunch places - Cafe O'Lei

You're on holiday and you don't feel like cooking! Hey - we've all been there (even when we're NOT on holiday!!). However, eating out on Maui can be - well - expensive. Especially dinner.

You will find that often lunch is significantly cheaper here (depending on where you go, it can be a third the price).

One of our favorite lunch places is Cafe O'Lei at 2439 South Kihei Road (between Kamaole I and II beaches, near Denny's). I've never gone for dinner but have been told its a $30+ menu (unconfirmed!). Their daily lunch plate special by contrast is $7.95 for fish, rice and salad. The restaurant is nice, air-conditioned and easy with kids. It is upstairs at Rainbow Plaza - there is an elevator if you need it.

Some of our favorites are
- Curry Chicken Salad $8.95
- Quinoa Salad $7.95
- Macnut Crusted Breast of Chicken (foccacia sandwich) $8.95
- Sliced Roast Turkey breast sandwich $7.95
- Crab Club on foccacia $10.95

Cafe O'Lei's Crab Club (snowcrab salad, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and avocado on foccacio)

I'm getting hungry just thinking about this.... yum.

There are a few other locations, I've been to the Cafe O'Lei at the Dunes also. Gorgeous West Maui Mountains view.
